Celebrating the women driving the renewable energy industry forward across the UK & Ireland — their stories, insight and achievements.

Gill Nowell

Gill Nowell

Founder of Global Women in EV Day®

I’ve spent more than 25 years working across sustainable energy, utilities and environmental technologies, and almost 15 years at the heart of the electric mobility transition. My career has spanned consultancy, policy, communications and industry leadership, including early work on EV-grid integration that helped inform UK Government thinking around smart charging and the public charging experience. Today, I’m Founder of Hosted by Gill®, through which I work as an event host, moderator, speaker and consultant across clean energy and transport; Founder of Global Women in EV Day®; co-creator of The 49 Collective; and a Co-founding Director of EVA England. I also sit on the Advisory Board of Safer Charging. The common thread running through everything I do is connecting people, ideas and opportunities – and helping make the transition to cleaner transport work for everyone.

I’ve been fortunate to receive a number of awards and recognitions throughout my career, including being named among the Top 50 Women in Engineering: Sustainability, a Women in Insurance Trailblazer, a GreenFleet EV Champion, and being ranked among the GreenFleet 100 Most Influential people working in UK fleet. But some of the achievements I'm proudest of are harder to put on an award. Seeing early consultancy work contribute to policy development; helping give EV drivers an independent voice through EVA England; creating Global Women in EV Day® and The 49 Collective, and increasingly using my own visibility to create opportunities for other women all mean a great deal to me. I'm particularly proud of practical initiatives such as the Global Women in EV Speaker Directory. Visibility creates opportunity – and seeing women being approached for speaking, media and industry opportunities because somebody found them through the Directory is hugely rewarding.

Eclipse Power

Executive Leader with a demonstrated history of working in the utilities industry. Strong program and project management professional, skilled in Energy, Construction, Operations Sustainability and Renewables

I am most proud of the teams and cultures I have helped create throughout my career. Delivering strong commercial results matters, but creating environments where people can thrive, develop and achieve their full potential is what leaves a lasting impact. Professionally, leading complex operational businesses, driving transformational change and successfully scaling organisations through periods of growth have been particularly rewarding. Personally, I am proud to be a visible advocate for women in engineering and leadership, helping to encourage more women to pursue and progress in careers across the energy sector.

The Menopause Maze

Hi I am Fiona, the founder and CEO of The Menopause Maze based in Manchester in the UK. Having had a total abdominal hysterectomy and going into a savage surgically induced menopause at 42 I know first hand the impact menopause has on women in business leadership, women in deal rooms and women in the boardroom. With nothing on the market to help me maintain my peak performance, business and career growth, which left me feeling 'professionally homeless', I set out on a mission to research the tools and strategies women need to keep growing their boardroom and leadership careers without compromise and without having to pause because of menopause. That research formed the basis of the multi-award winning NOPAUSE™ method applies her multi-award which forms part of the world's only 'Professional Prescription for Menopause' - where women can get their own bespoke prescription to maintain their performance, progression and promotion so they can keep leading and living without limits in one of the most potentially de-railing career transition windows for women's leadership careers. You may have seen me on your TV screens. I am a specialist expert in the media on women in business, business growth and menopause at work. I am also the founder Lightbulb Leadership Solutions, the group company of The Menopause Maze - a value creation and growth consulting firm with specific expertise in growing £50m+ companies.

I am very proud of the fact that I was one of the key campaigners along with Davina McCall and all the other wonderful women involved to get HRT in the UK on one annual prescription fee, I'm extremely proud of the fact that I chaired a parliamentary round-table on The Women's Health Strategy and was named by LinkedIn as one of its innovators that would change the world and business in 2025. Across 2026 I've also been named: • Global 100 Excellence Award in M&A winner 2025/26 • Global Pharma Winner of Best Executive Performance 2026 • Most Influential Women's Health and Career Business Woman 2025 • Menopause Champion of The Year 2024 • Business Advisor of The Year 2025 • Career Coach of The Year 2025 • Women's Keynote Speaker of The Year • Top 250 Global Influencer in FemTech • SheerLuxe's 12 Most Influential Women in Business Today • Winner of The Innospace Outstanding Entrepreneur Award • Winner of Business Coaching Service of The Year • Member of The International Menopause Society

Kirsty Dawson

Kirsty Dawson

Statkraft

My name is Kirsty Dawson and I'm a proud gay woman originally from Cardiff but now living in Dundee with my wife. Life revolves around family, football and food! I graduated from Abertay University with a First-Class Honours Degree in Human Resource Management, and my career has been a journey! I worked in a fish and shop for years as a student, before getting my first post uni full-time job in the dental industry - cold calling dental surgeries in London to buy our products, and still feel this job really made me in terms of who I am today. I worked hard and was promoted into more senior roles with more responsibility (Procurement and then Technical Services & HR). I then landed in the Aerospace industry, providing support to our main client Rolls-Royce, who were contracted with the MOD. And then during COVID, I took my first step into renewables working at SSEN Transmission! I learned an awful lot, majority of which was alone at home due to the pandemic, providing support to hundreds of renewable developers, and really being a one stop shop for them with a well-rounded knowledge base. One of these being Statkraft, who I then joined in February last year. My career has focussed around supporting external and internal customers. I am very much a people person and pride myself in getting things done.

Proud to have been elected as a CUSC panel alternate member and being asked to speak at multiple conferences - this was something on my career bucket list! Also very humbling to be asked to be a mentor to a previous work colleague due to the positive impact I have had on her personal and professional life.
